Senior Scholars Program

What is the Senior Scholars Program?

Senior Scholars is a yearlong engagement with our community. The program begins with a virtual introduction to campus that is open to all Senior Scholars applicants. During the virtual program, applicants will meet campus leaders and faculty and hear directly from current students about life in Portland. Senior Scholars who are admitted to Reed will receive financial support to visit campus in the spring.

High school seniors will learn about life at Reed and create lasting connections with current students, faculty, and other future Reedies. Senior Scholars also strives to answer the unique questions posed by underrepresented students and students of color. All high-achieving students, regardless of background, race, ethnicity, or gender are welcome and encouraged to apply.

All students are welcome to apply by October 15, 2025.

Senior Scholars applicants will:

  • Meet with Reed President Audrey Bilger.
  • Connect with Milyon Trulove, Vice President and Dean of Admission & Financial Aid, and Karnell McConnell-Black, Vice President for Student Life.
  • Join professors members for a Q&A about their conference-style classes and what it’s like to learn at Reed.
  • Hear from current students about their experiences inside and outside of the classroom.

Seniors Scholars changed my perspective on college. Getting to experience campus during the school year gave me a more intimate look at Reed that I couldn’t get just by touring. I had the chance to see what community looks like here and to visit cool places off campus. Senior Scholars removed the mystifying aura around college and gave me the opportunity to see myself at Reed.
