This year, Reed’s Sustainability team collaborated with Conference and Events Planning to create an Earth Day celebration that showcased our community’s valiant efforts to make climate consciousness a part of everyday life.

“We welcomed 35 campus and community partners—including local environmental nonprofits and B Corps—to share their work, build connections, and inspire action,” says Sophia Oakley ’25, who helped plan the celebration as part of her internship as a Sustainability Leader.

The celebration was a call to action that also offered low-barrier (and fun!) ways for students and neighbors to make connections.

“At a time when thinking about climate can feel overwhelming, it was deeply energizing to have these conversations beyond the classroom and foster relationships between Reedies, our community, and our Earth,” Sophia says.
