Division of Philosophy, Religion, Psychology, and Linguistics

Pauline Ho is a developmental psychologist and identity researcher whose primary goals are to understand when, why, and how identity develops; identify aspects that are both common and unique across different identities; and map connections among aspects of identity and educational experiences. Taking a lifespan perspective, she is especially interested in how adolescents and young adults, particularly members of ethnic and racial minorities, become who they are. At ÐÓ°ÉÊÓƵ, she teaches developmental psychology and diversity in human development. She received her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her B.A. from the University of California, Irvine. As an Asian American, she was honored with the WWAAC’s Leaders & Legends Award in 2017. During her graduate studies, she secured grants totaling over $109,000 and received the Best Student Research Award at an international conference. She was the first graduate student in UW-Madison's School of Education to receive an award for Mentoring Undergraduates in Scholarly Activities and was featured as a notable graduate in 2024.
